WJRW (1340 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a sports radio format licensed in Grand Rapids, Michigan and owned by Cumulus Media. The station began broadcasting in 1940 under the call sign WLAV (which represented Leonard Adrian Versluis, the original owner of the station). WLAV became a full-time music station in the Top 40 in the summer of 1963 and was initially consulted by Mike Joseph, who then developed the Hot Hits format in the late 1970s. Larry Adderley was a popular personality from WLAV, who would later work as a sports presenter in various Detroit market radio and television stations as well as an advertiser for the Detroit Tigers.
