KGFX (1060 kHz) is a classic commercial AM country radio station located in Pierre, South Dakota, belonging to the James River Broadcasting Company. All four James River stations at Pierre divide their studies into 214 West Pleasant Drive, and the KGFX broadcasting site is located on US Route 83 south of Pierre. The station operates with 10,000 watts during the day, but because AM 1060 is a pure channel frequency with priority reserved for class A KYW stations in Philadelphia and XEEP in Mexico, KGFX must reduce power at night to 1000 watts.
