WCYY is a commercial radio station in Portland, Maine. It broadcasts in the Portland region, Maine to 94.3 FM and formerly to 93.9 FM from Lewiston, Maine. The target group are people aged 18 to 44 years. The station broadcasts a modern rock music format and is owned by Townsquare Media. WCYY was started in 1972 as WIDE-FM. WIDE-FM became WBYC on March 1, 1981, when we played beautiful music in beautiful York County. On December 2, 1985, WBYC became a Joy 94-point-3 adult adult. WYJY joined WSTG on January 28, 1991 and starred as an adult contender for 94-point-3. On 8 July 1994 WSTG went as an alternative to the adult album and moved to WCYY.
