WHRV is a public radio broadcasting station licensed for Norfolk, Virginia, serving Hampton Roads. This is the leading radio station on the National Public Radio for Hampton Roads, as well as a subsidiary station for a PBS member, WHRO-TV. It conveys a mixture of NPR news and programming conversations, jazz, blues and folk music. It is owned by the Hampton Roads Educational Telecommunications Association, a consortium of 19 Hampton Roads and East Coast school districts. Studios are located at the Hampton Roads Public Telecommunications Center on the Old Dominion University campus in Norfolk. The transmitter is located in Suffolk, Virginia.
