WMET is a 1160 kHz radio station in the medium wave AM band serving the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Over the past several decades, it has gone through a number of radio formats, from progressive rock to comedy and by a conservative talk show format. Since May 3, 2010, it is a Catholic religious radio station. WMET went from the 1150 kHz frequency in 2003. Its transmitter is located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. WMET has a transmitter power of 50,000 watts during the day and a directional signal of 1,500 watts at night.
