WHQR is a National Public Radio (NPR) member station for Southeast North Carolina and Myrtle Beach, broadcasting on the FM 91.3 MHz band. Based in Wilmington and operated by Friends of Public Radio, Inc. (community group). Broadcasts NPR, American Public Media, Public Radio International, and BBC, as well as alternative classical, jazz and adult music. WHQR organizes concerts and events in the gallery space, as well as live music in the original Soup to Nuts Live program. The station supports two FM repeater stations, W255BZ from Myrtle Beach on 98.9, W231AB from Lumberton on 94.1. WHQR also runs a sister station of classical music called Classical HQR, broadcasting on the stream HD-2 , as well as on the translator W224CX from Wilmington on 92.7, and on W272CV from Myrtle Beach on 102.3 .
