KNEV is a commercial radio station located in Reno, Nevada, which broadcasts on 95.5 FM. KNEV broadcasts a classic hip hop music format marked "95.5 The Vibe". The station returns to the K257AX translator at 99.3 FM in Battle Mountain, Nevada. It is owned by Cumulus Media. His studies are located on Plumb Lane, in the south of Reno, and his transmitter is located at McClellan Peak northeast of Carson City, Nevada. KNEV is the longest FM station operating continuously in the state of Nevada, after having signed Christmas Day 1953. Since its original broadcast date in 1953, KNEV has kept its original name and frequency. KNEV was originally an easy listening station during the day and classic after 18:00 and all day on Sunday and remained so for many years. In 1980, Everett Cobb sold the station to the McClatchy newspapers. In 1992, the station was relaunched as "Magic 95", with a contemporary format for soft adults, and would compete with the KRNO crosstown station (Sunny 106.9).
